PROJECT #25: Intersection Improvements

REFERENDUM STATEMENT: - This program will improve intersections identified in the ACC Commission approved Long-Range Transportation Plan and the Transportation Improvement Program. All of the selected intersections will be in areas where there are existing safety, operational, and/or congestion concerns. Funds can be utilized as local match to leverage state and federal funds, including county contract funding. This project is a next installment of the SPLOST IV program.

Budget: $2,266,676 Variable
Annual Operating Expense: $ 5,000

Current Status:

Group A - Indian Hills Road Left Turn Lane - Project is complete.
Group B - Atlanta Hwy. /SR Loop 10 connector turn lane – Project is complete
Group C – Whit Davis Road / Old Lexington road Intersections Improvements - Phase I – Design Task 1 Preliminary Construction Plans
Group D – Robert Hardman/Morton Road Intersection Improvements – Phase III – Bid and Award – Task 1

Action Since Last Report:

Group C - Whit Davis Road / Old Lexington road Intersections Improvements:

Construction has begun and is expected to be complete in May 2006.
Grading, sidewalk, base preparation, and storm drainage improvements are being installed.
Asphalt paving is expected to begin in mid-April 2006.
Utilities are relocated.

Group D – Robert Hardman/Morton Road Intersection Improvements

Pipeline work is complete and grading is complete.
Asphalt paving is complete.
Signal is expected to be complete in March 2006.
Project is expected to be complete in April 2006.
